Scarce full uniform, including jersey shorts and socks, dates from Meadowlark Lemon's earliest seasons with the Globetrotters. Blue dureen jersey features a “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag indicating size “42” on the left front tail. Colorful adornments include team name "Harlem Globetrotters," Lemon's number 36, and four stars stitched on the front, with Lemon's last name, number 36, and four stars stitched on the back. Matching red and white buckle-front satin shorts feature similar Wilson tagging in the waistband indicating size "34". The shirt shows consistent, even wear throughout which includes fraying and "puckering" of the letters and numbers. Today, George “Meadowlark” Lemon, who holds a Doctor of Divinity, is a born-again Christian and an ordained minister in Scottsdale, Arizona. However, from 1957-1979, Lemon’s followers were on the basketball court, watching as the “Clown Prince of Basketball” taunted the patsy Washington Generals, or heaved his trademark half court hook shot into a waiting net. Probably the most famous and best loved member of the Harlem Globetrotters, Lemon played in more than 16,000 games for the team, traveling and entertaining fans in ninety countries, including diplomats, world leaders, royalty, celebrities, two popes and an adoring public. Lemon first applied for membership in the 26-year old Harlem team in1952 and was given a tryout. After serving two years in the Army he signed a contract and played his first season with one of the Globetrotter developmental teams, the Kansas City Stars. Lemon finally made the team in 1957. In 2003 he was inducted into the National Basketball Hall of Fame for his lifetime contributions to the game. Purple jacket trimmed in yellow and white features an embroidered Lakers logo on the left breast and the name "West" stitched on the back of the shirt in purple tackle twill on a white backing. Measurable game use is evident throughout though the jacket shows no structural faults and retains superb display quality. Jerry West's combination of a deadly jump shot, tenacious defense, obsessive perfectionism, quiet confidence and an uncompromising will to win made him one of the NBA's greatest guards. West was a winner from the moment he first picked up a basketball. As a schoolboy phenom at East Bank High School, West led his team to a state championship in his senior year, and in the process, became the first West Virginia scholastic player to score more than 900 points in one season. Recruited by 60 colleges, West chose to stay close to home. In 1959, his junior year, averaging 26.9 points a game, West and his Mountaineers made the NCAA Finals and West won the tournament's Most Outstanding Player award. In a superlative senior season, he was a consensus All-America and led West Virginia to its third consecutive conference title. During WestÆs 14-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers, he became synonymous with brilliant basketball. He was the third player in league history to reach 25,000 points (after Chamberlain and Robertson). West led LA to the NBA finals nine times, losing six times to the Celtics, twice to the Knicks and finally winning his lone title in 1972, defeating the Knicks four games to one while averaging 23 points in the playoffs and winning the MVP award. He returned to lead the Bulls in one of the most remarkable years ever posted by any club and player. Jordan led the NBA with 30.4 points, winning a record eighth scoring championship, one more than Wilt. The Bulls won a record 72 victories during the regular season and rolled easily through the playoffs with a 15-3 record. Chicago's combined record of 87-13 for the 1995-96 regular season and playoffs was the best in NBA history. Jordan captured the MVP awards for the regular season, All-Star Game and Finals, joining Willis Reed (1970) as the only two players to win all three honors in the same season. This jersey was issued for Jordan's tenth All-Star game, his first out of retirement, held at the Alamodome in San Antonio. He scored 20 points in 22 minutes and fed Shaquille OÆNeal with several assists and won his second, and final All-Star MVP. This enormous 31"x60"x5" mahogany shadowbox framed display celebrates Michael Jordan's extraordinary basketball career with the Chicago Bulls where he won six World Championships. The display includes three mounted 1997-98 Chicago Bulls Nike jerseys in red, white and black. Jordan has signed each jersey on the back number. At the top center of the display is a 12"x23" UDA Michael Jordan "Six Fingers" photo collage commemorating his six NBA titles with the Bulls. Jordan has signed the "Six Fingers" photo collage in black sharpie. All four Jordan signatures in the display rate 10 out of 10. Each piece has its own UDA hologram and matching UDA certificate. A descriptive card is mounted in the lower right corner that is hand numbered "1/1" and bears a seperate hologram that corresponds to a UDA certificate representing the entire piece.
